With a permit, Land Between The Lakes (LBL) offers back country camping in most of its 170,000 acres. CAMPING IN LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES (LBL)
Camping is one of the most popular activities at Land Between The Lakes. LBL's nine developed campgrounds offer amenities such as modern RV hookups, clean toilet/shower buildings, bike and kayak/canoe rentals (in season), beach and activity areas, and some primitive camping shelters (cabins). Also, throughout LBL you will find boat ramps, picnic tables, fire rings, and various other amenities to suit your more secluded camping needs. STATE PARK CAMPGROUNDS
Western Kentucky has 5 state parks with campgrounds - Columbus-Belmont, Kenlake, Kentucky Dam Village, Lake Barkley, and Pennyrile Forest. They now accept reservations for camping sites - a big plus for those visitor's coming a long way. To make reservations call the individual park or go to www.reserveamerica.com and search for the name of a specific state park.
CORPS OF ENGINEER CAMPGROUNDS
The Corps of Engineers operates 3 campgrounds on Lake Barkley in western Kentucky - Canal, Hurricane Creek and Eureka. To make reservations go to www.reserveamerica.com and search for the name of the specific campground.
